High-grade old Mediterranean coral is framed by intricate hand-sawn sterling silverwork in this one-of-a-kind pendant by Dina Huntinghorse. Inspired by Avanyu, the Horned Water Serpent, the detailed overlay design surrounds the richly colored red stone with flowing geometric forms while showcasing the precision of the artist’s saw work.
The pendant is constructed from two layers of sterling silver, with a carefully hand-sawn top sheet soldered over a solid sterling silver foundation to create the dimensional overlay design. At the center, the natural coral is set in a hand-sawn sterling silver bezel, adding another level of detailed workmanship while drawing attention to the stone’s deep, saturated red color.
